Ethiopia - unrest in Oromia region
Update: 1 November 2019
We have been closely monitoring the developments in Ethiopia’s Oromia region over the past week, and have so far taken the decision to reroute ET 27OCT19 and ET 03NOV19. We’re currently working on ET 10NOV19 and will have a further detailed update on Monday 4 November.
On 31 October British Foreign Advice removed advice about these protests, however, our local team in Ethiopia are not confident the unrest is completely over as the situation locally remains very tense and some news outlets report continuing clashes throughout the region too. Please rest assured we’re monitoring the situation and any decisions taken are in our customers' best interests.

We have been monitoring the developments in Lebanon very closely and during this period have cancelled four departures. As of 4 November, we can confirm the roadblocks have resumed throughout the country. So far these demonstrations continue to be calm and peaceful and the purpose of these continuing demonstrations is to add pressure to the government to ensure they move forward with the reforms since the Prime Minister’s resignation last week (29 October).
Based on the current situation, British Foreign Office advice and the news updates, we resumed all trips in Lebanon from 2 November and departures continue as planned.
Our customers safety or security is our priority and at this time we’re confident that customers can visit Lebanon safely, however, trips may be subject to last minute changes, re-routing and possibly longer drives. Explore are working in very close contact with the local team and are involved in all decisions surrounding itinerary changes. Please rest assured that Explore will continue to monitor closely and in the event we need to make any further changes or cancellations our Customers Service Team will contact customers directly.

We are aware of British Airways’ planned strikes in September and are currently reviewing bookings and contacting affected passengers. You may have been contacted by British Airways directly to update you on your flight status. Please be assured that Explore have also been notified and will proactively call affected passengers over the next few days as we get all the notifications through.
We have also been informed that BA have incorrectly advised some passengers that their flight is affected when it isn’t. If you want to check the current status of your booking you can check the BA website - https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/home#/
Unfortunately, working through this will take a few days but we will reach everyone that is affected and give each of you the time needed to find a resolution.
