Egypt
Tours to Egypt are operating as normal. We have been in constant communication with our local team in Cairo and across our Egyptian destinations, they have reported back that all operations are running as normal. Tourist sites are operating normally, although with tightened security as is the local train network. Flights from the UK have been operating normally.
Our local partners have several groups in the country at the current time; all trips are running as normal. Based on their direct feedback and current UK government travel advisory, which is unchanged from last week, we are fully satisfied that it is safe to proceed with your Explore holiday as scheduled.
This is an evolving situation, and of course, if there are any further changes in the coming weeks that affect your itinerary or your safety, we will be in touch.

Cuba - Change of FCDO travel advice 12 February 2026
At 8pm last night (UK time), the UK FCDO updated its travel advice to advise against all but essential travel to Cuba.
In light of this change in FCDO advice, we are cancelling all remaining Cuba departures for 2026 and 2027 with immediate effect. We're contacting affected customers directly, in order of departure.
While we do not yet have a timeline for resuming operations, we remain hopeful that conditions will stabilise and improve. Cuba remains an extraordinary and culturally rich destination, and we very much intend to return when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Travel to Cambodia - update 8 January 2026
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) travel advice for Cambodia has recently changed to advise against all but essential travel due to an increase in military activity along the Thai-Cambodia border, affecting a strip of land 80km from the border with Thailand. This new advisory is an extension of the previous advice, which restricted travel to an area within 50km of the border. This update now includes the town of Battambang, which we visit on our Journey through Cambodia: Bangkok to Saigon (QBK); Simply Bangkok to Hanoi (QBV); Bangkok to Saigon by Bike (CTV) and Heart of Cambodia (CD) trips.
Cambodia travel advice - GOV.UK
Please note that the FCDO advice regarding travel to the Siem Reap province does not affect Siem Reap itself as this is in a different province.
Explore will be contacting upcoming departures for January and February to reroute to avoid Battambang, we’re currently investigating alternatives with our local suppliers. Once accommodation availability has been confirmed, we’ll be in a position to communicate the final itinerary.
Please be reassured that the rest of the country remains calm and safe to travel, with no visible impact from the border conflict. A re-route away from Battambang is a straightforward change, with some great alternative possibilities that will still showcase the best of the country. We’ll communicate the detail of the new itinerary as soon as the new services have been confirmed.
October 2023 - Israel-Palestine conflict
Following the ongoing situation in Israel we have cancelled all our tours to Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and to Lebanon. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this conflict.
The Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) now advises against all but essential travel to Lebanon. As a result we can no longer operate our Lebanon tours and have cancelled all departures until the end of the year. We will be contacting affected passengers in departure date order.
We'd like to confirm that all other tours are operating as usual. As always, we keep in very close contact with our partners and respond to any changes made to FCDO advice. Our Explore Flex policy means that you have options if you decide to change your trip or dates up to ten days before your planned departure. In any instances where the FCDO advises against travel, we cancel all trips and full refunds are payable.
