Highlights of Puglia (Thrive Solo departure)

18 April 2027 | 8 Days | Price: £2,890 (single room) | Flights not included

With more olive trees than people, the 'heel' of Italy is as relaxed as it is sun-drenched. Spend a week exploring the highlights of Puglia, from the cave dwellings of Matera to the Baroque architecture of Lecce. Our itinerary combines the perfect balance of culture, food and the Adriatic coast.

Why we love this trip
  • Matera - Discover the fascinating UNESCO-listed ancient troglodyte Sassi quarter in Basilicata.
  • Alberobello - Explore the beehive-shaped trulli houses unique to Puglia and sample local wine.
  • Lecce - Visit the 'Florence of the South' to see the Baroque and the magnificent cathedral square.

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Explore again – this time for a spring escape to Puglia, and honestly, it already feels like a bit of a dream. After my last trip, I know just how special it is when a group of like-minded women come together… and I have a feeling this one is going to be something really memorable.

We’ll be travelling through sun-drenched southern Italy just as it bursts into bloom – think wildflowers, olive groves, and that soft, golden light I’m already imagining us soaking up together. There are so many moments I can’t wait for… tasting freshly made mozzarella on a family-run farm, sipping local wine in Alberobello, and (possibly my favourite) spending a couple of nights sleeping in a traditional trullo – those magical little white stone houses that look like something out of a fairytale.

We’ll explore beautiful places like Lecce and Matera, and fully embrace the Italian way of life – aperitivo in one hand, gelato in the other, with plenty of laughter and conversation in between. But more than anything, it’s about the connection and the conversations – the part that really stays with you. I’d love you to join me.

Is this the tour for you?

  • We' ve graded this tour as moderate - expect a busy itinerary balanced with plenty of downtime to explore at your own pace.
  • We'll be using public trains to get to and from the airport. It's worth noting that you'll have to carry your own luggage on and off the trains, so don't overload yourself when packing.
  • It gets incredibly hot in Italy during the summer - we recommend packing light layers and sun protection and carrying water at all times. If you don't deal well with the heat, book on to a shoulder-season departure.
