Our 3 day trip across the Atacama desert was amazing. Great experience. Our stay in Sucre was a nice break after that journey. Another highlight was our stay on the Isla de Sol on Lake Titicaca. It would have been nice to stay a full day on the island. We have a fun day on the Andean Explorer passing through a beautiful landscape. It's an optional extra and definitely worth it. Then the final highlight was Machu Pichu - it's even more wonderful than I expected. It was difficult to pull myself away as the time to leave approached. I recommend taking the altitude medication - I didn't. Temperatures vary so layers are good - it's very cold in the early mornings but can get quite warm during the day. You don't need to be very fit - I wasn't. It's a great experience - another Explore traveller recommended it to me and I am very happy to repeat the recommendation!

Where to begin? The salt flats, Moon valley at sunset, Lake Titicaca, The Train from Puno to Cusco, Machu Picchu and the wonderful views of La Paz. Something astonishing almost every day!Up there with the best of them. Well organised, friendly, helpful and calm and very passionate and knowledgeable about the whole area.

Travelling across the saltflats and the desert was a totally unique experience. This is not a relaxing holiday, every day is packed with new and awesome things to see and do.
