Experiences Walking and Trekking Point to Point Trekking

Point to Point Trekking

Point to point trekking holidays involve following a linear route from A to B, as opposed to a circular route or day walks to and from the same point. For many hikers the satisfaction of moving on from one overnight stop to the next, following a linear route towards a final destination, is part of the pleasure of the hike.

Amongst the world’s most famous point to point treks are the Inca Trail in Peru, The Tour du Mount Blanc and the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain. Lesser known but equally satisfying point to point walking routes include the 220 kilometre long Corfu Trail, which runs the length of the mountainous island from north to south, and the Lycian Way in southern Turkey, whose route along the idyllic Turquoise Coast takes you past ancient Greek sites and unspoilt mountain villages. More challenging and higher altitude point to point treks include Mount Toubkal in Morocco, Kilimanjaro in Tanazania and in the Annapurna region of Nepal.

If you enjoy hiking with a specific purpose, to cover a defined route, then a point to point trek may be just what you’re looking for. The shared objective of reaching the endpoint is a tangible goal for everyone in your trekking party and often brings a shared sense of satisfaction and achievement to the whole group.
