What types of walking holidays do you offer in Europe?
We offer three different types of small group walking tours in Europe. The first type of walking trip covers a selection of the best walks or trails in a particular region of Europe; using motorised transport, we travel to different walking locations each day and stay in different places each night. Our
point-to-point European hikes take on a more traditional trek or pilgrimage style where you'll walk from one overnight stop to the next. And on our
European centre-based walking holidays you'll stay in the same hotel for the duration of the trip and travel to explore different locations by foot each day. We also offer
Self-Guided walking trips.
How do your Self-Guided walking trips to Europe work?
Discover the highlights of Europe on foot and at your own pace with our
Self-Guided walking trips. We'll look after all of the logistics including itinerary notes and map, accommodation for each night and luggage transfers between each stop so you can explore and travel hassle-free. Follow
Portugal's scenic Rota Vicentina walking route along picturesque cliff-top trails, amongst sand dunes and beside rocky shorelines, dare to
trek the slopes of Sicily's bubbling Mount Etna in Italy, or ascend to the summit of Pico Ruivo for panoramic views on a
walking tour of Madeira.
How challenging are your walking tours in Europe?
Our walking holidays to Europe vary in difficulty from Easy through to Challenging. We've
graded each trip accordingly to help you to choose the best trip for your experience and ability, whether you're an occasional walker or a seasoned hiker. Take a look at our
Eastern Algarve Portugal trip or
Taste of Italy tour for a gentle introduction to our walking holidays. Or, for more of a challenge, join our
Tour du Mont Blanc that takes you on a hike through several countries in the European Alps.
Are your European walking tours suitable for solo travellers?
Absolutely! All of our small group walking tours to Europe are ideal for those of you who are travelling solo. In fact, almost half of those joining our walking holidays do so alone, so you'll be joining lots of like-minded adventurers on our walking trips. Your local tour guide will also be on hand to support you and make sure you enjoy the journey.
