A country high in altitude but also in spirituality, Nepal offers the ultimate cultural experience. Take in the sight of snow-topped mountains and prayer flags on the Annapurna trek, explore Kathmandu's colourful bazaars and trek Mount Everest.
Whether you’re looking for a Nepal Trekking Tour or a Nepal Discovery Holiday, our small group tours will show you the best that this spectacular country has to offer.
Get off-grid and immerse yourself in the vast valleys of the Himalayas with our trekking holidays in Nepal. If walking the Annapurna Massif is on your bucket list, our experienced local tour leaders will lead you through rhododendron forests, across rocky landscapes and along snow-covered passes to complete this classic walking pilgrimage. Choose to stay in authentic family-run tea house lodges or opt for some home comforts in Ker and Downey Lodges. For the ultimate bucket-list trek, there's no missing Mount Everest. Walk through forested foothills and explore the bustling home of the Sherpa community as you reach Everest Base Camp and ascend to the summit of Kala Patthar, at 5645 metres above sea level. Another highlight of Nepal is a visit to the capital, Kathmandu, where you'll navigate your way through a hubbub of fruit stalls, spinning potter wheels, gilded shrines, sacred cows and noisy rickshaws in the city’s lively bazaar.
Considering a trip to Nepal but new to Explore? We've answered some of the most-asked questions about our small group tours.
At Explore, we want our holidays to deliver memorable and amazing experiences. All Nepali airlines have been placed on the UK Air Safety List since 2013 - whilst most of these airlines do not fly into UK airspace, the ban reflects the fact that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Nepal doesn't operate to accepted UK and international standards. We have therefore chosen not to use any internal flights within Nepal. As a result, we travel everywhere in Nepal either by vehicle, or in most cases, on foot. This has the added benefit of reducing our carbon footprint, whilst also taking us closer to the breathtaking mountain scenery and the nature that Nepal is so famous for. This results in some long but scenic driving days on some of our trips (around eight hours between Kathmandu and Pokhara, and around nine between Kathmandu and Salleri, for Everest Base Camp, for example), but we are confident that this is the right choice for you, our customers.
From big wows to hidden gems, our tours leave you feeling that you've really explored.
