Where Travel Meets Regeneration: Our Year With Greening Australia

We’re proud to stand alongside our partner Greening Australia to continue restoring our landscapes and protecting biodiversity. This year has been another significant chapter in Greening Australia’s mission, delivering projects that strengthen communities, boost local economies, and regenerate nature.

Seeds of Change

Together with Greening Australia, we’re planting the seeds (literally and figuratively) for long-term environmental impact. Our partnership supports large-scale, science-led projects that rebuild habitat for threatened species, increase biodiversity, and improve the health of waterways across Australia.

Greening Australia’s Impact in 2025

Learn more about this incredible work Greening Australia has achieved in 2025.
Restoring Land at Scale

In 2025 alone, Greening Australia restored 3,550 hectares of habitat bringing life back to degraded landscapes across the country. These restored areas create refuge for wildlife and strengthen ecosystems.

Millions of Native Plants Taking Root

In the past year, over 3.2 million native trees, shrubs, and grasses were planted, that’s almost 10,000 plants a day! These plants help strengthen ecosystems, support wildlife, and revive biodiversity. In addition, 8 tonnes of native seed were supplied to restoration projects to help preserve Australia’s unique plant life.

Safeguarding Water & Supporting First Nations Leadership

In a single year, Greening Australia prevented 13,922 tonnes of pollutants from entering rivers and coasts (equivalent to over 700 buses in weight) helping protect clean water and vital marine ecosystems like the Great Barrier Reef.
They also partnered with 51 First Nations groups, embedding Indigenous knowledge and leadership into restoration efforts, and strengthening deep connections to Country.

More Than Just a Tree

There’s never been a better time to get involved. Whether you’re planting your first sapling or your hundredth, every tree helps grow a greener tomorrow.
Our team at Explore joined Greening Australia for a second time in Brisbane’s Archerfield Wetlands Parkland for a day of tree planting. One team member shared:

“Spending a day in the Archerfield Wetlands was both inspiring and enjoyable. It was great to see the impactful work Greening Australia is doing and even better to get hands-on in helping plant vital native species. We also learned about the unique wildlife already beginning to thrive in these restored habitats."
