When to Travel

Zambia’s dry season is between May and October. Temperatures reach around 29°C during the day. Early dry season is the most pleasant time to travel and the best for bird-watching. For game-viewing, late dry season is better as water is harder for the animals to find, although it is very hot.  Zambia is in the tropics and benefits from good sunshine; take light clothes with something warmer for chilly nights.

LEOPARDS, SUNSETS, WALKING SAFARIS

Zambia excels as a safari destination; in our opinion, it’s one of the best in southern Africa. Experience the thrill of stalking the bush in search of lion and leopard while, just around the corner, a herd of elephants awaits and myriad birdlife scatters the skies. Zambia pioneered walking safaris many years ago, and is one of the best places in the world to experience them. Finish your safari with a trip to thundering Victoria Falls and activities to keep the adrenaline flowing.

Meet Aisling Bull, Regional Specialist for Zambia

 Aisling
"So much more than Victoria Falls, Zambia offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. South Luangwa National Park is widely regarded as one of the best safari destinations in Africa and is home to the original walking safari. Tracking wildlife on foot is a completely different experience than sitting in a vehicle – you feel a part of nature and the environment. Nothing beats standing in the footprint of an elephant, or trying to track lions by their paw prints! A walking safari is a truly unforgettable way to experience wildlife."

"Visit the impressive Victoria Falls, known as the “smoke that thunders” and choose from an array of adrenaline pumping activities such as whitewater rafting, canoeing and helicopter rides."

Safari Art

Safari-Art

“Unlock your creative side with an art safari in an outdoor workshop. Learn the craft of drawing and painting on to natural materials, using a stencil or your own design. You’ll be taught by a team of local artists, finishing with a unique memento of your holiday."
