How was your Explore Tour Leader?

"Sharkey" was a good Tour Leader, providing the right balance of looking after us and letting us do our own thing.  He was there when needed to help organise other activites as well as ensuring that all the transfers etc. went smoothly.  Very patient and imaginative with the children (taught them some basic Thai which they demonstrated at a school!).

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Although described as relaxed, there is plenty to do and you will not be bored.

Do you have anything else to add?

A whistle-stop tour encompassing the bustle of Bangkok, the serenity of the jungle and the beautiful islands around Krabi.  Superb food throughout (including a great red curry on the overnight train journey!) and beautifully presented cocktails at the jungle lodge.  The included snorkelling trip are limited so if you want a bit more of this then you can arrange some on one of the free days in the islands.  ATMs are widespread so you dont need to carry large amounts of cash around.  We loved the Thai food (which is inexpensive), cocktails (available everywhere!), massages (also available everywhere and inexpensive), the fantastic scenery and friendly people (including our tour group which comprised a great bunch of people!).

Our leader was brilliant, we never had a quiet moment, he always had something else for us to see. He was very organised and made an effort to ensure we all got the most out of our trip.

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Although this is billed as a relaxed holiday there is so much to see and do that you won't be laid on a beach. Be prepared to be on the go all the time.

Do you have anything else to add?

Thailand is a very beautiful country and all the people are very friendly. There are some amazing things to see, from Ang Thong national park to the coral reefs, this trip is well worth doing.

This was my family's first Explore holiday and it was a wonderful experience for us all. From the sights and sounds of Bangkok, to the incredible setting of the jungle lodge, and finally 1 week enjoying the beautiful island scenery.- the holiday had everything. And to cap it all we travelled with a great group of people.
