What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
Stunning antiquities, temples decorated with sculptures, tombs with paintings as good as the Valley of the Kings, dozens of pyramids all with no other tourists. Kerma museum stunnung. Excellent hotels in Meroe and Karima. Charming and friendly people. Excellent food, no tummy ilnesses. Interesting birdlife on the Nile.
How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Good personal skills. A really nice person. Good knowledge of the history etc.
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Warm sleeping bag, warm clothes for the desert, wet wipes, a good torch all needed. Don't change more than $100 into Sudanese pounds.
Do you have anything else to add?
An extra day or two in Khartoum would enable you to see more of the sites of the city. This is a very interesting trip.
What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
The wild camping in the desert and the stay in the tented camp.
How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Arshad was fine but too polite so some of the group took advantage of his good nature and created extra work for him.His knowledge of the history involved was good.
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Learn about the history before you go and take some warm clothes with you - it really did get cold in the desert at night! Also wait to change money in the hotel where the rate was better and whatever you think you will need, halve it. I changed $200 and came home with $50 even after leaving a good tip.

The accomadation was first class, much better than I expected and the food was consistently delicious.
