What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

Camping out in the dunes and the absolute silence. I really felt like I had got away from it all.  Lovely.  Great group of people, lovely food and fantastic experience.

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

"Said was good.  He was great at organising us all and even managed to arrange a baby goat being born whilst we had our lunch on the last day!"

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Don't bother taking a water bottle!  We all did as instructed but then bought bottles of water that we used instead.  Take warm clothes as in the evening and over night it was freezing.  Lovely in the daytime though.

Do you have anything else to add?

No, other that it was definitely worth doing.  It felt a long way for one weekend but was worth every minute.  I came back invigorated having particularly enjoyed a sunny and hot weekend in February, making coming back to cold and dull UK harder though!

This was an unforgettable trip. It began with being flown into southern Morocco and meeting the excellent tour guide and first night in a decent hotel. Then the next day out in the Toyota Land Cruisers after a useful briefing from tour guide heading south through beautiful Moroccan scenery passing typical rural buildings and people. The first night camp was in remote oasis dunes among palms and watching the sunset and having a delicious meal served by our cook - vegetables and meat superbly cooked! Next day was 4 X 4 off-road through the desert proper. The heat wasn't too bad, just enough to know you're in the Sahara. The off-road was just fantastic, with expert driving through amazing desert country. The tour guide gave us good info on the people, the environment and the way of life in the area. A short camel-ride was fun too and cost only about £10. The third night was in chegaga dunes - and this was amazing place. We stayed in Berber tents and took photos of the immense dunes and watched the sunset. Next day was more off-road with photo stops and refreshment stops too. The last night was back at the hotel and then back to a wet and dreary UK. The whole trip was a highlight from start to finish! If you like off the beaten track trips where you see the real people and not just the tourist view, then this is a trip for you. It's not arduous, nor is it just for young people. Our trip was eight people aged from 20 to 70, and we were all like-minded and eager to learn. It's also good to know that the money we spent on the trip was helping the local economy directly and not just fed back to some anonymous company. TIPS: make sure you've got a warm sleeping bag as it does get cold at night in Spring. Bring your camera and get some of the best photos you'll ever take.
