A Typically exciting Explore Adventure. All the great sites are visited, the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, Forbidden City and of course the Pandas. When you've had enough of the cities there are days in the beautiful Dong and Zhao villages to relax. There's plenty of travel on public transport so bring a good bag and be prepared to be hustled and bustled in the crowds. Highlights for the kids are cycling (do the city wall in Xian, and the Bamboo rafting in Yangshou), the pandas and the overnight trains. Be prepared for these to be a little disorganised though, and dont assume you'll be with the rest of the group, or in soft sleeper cabins. Our local guide was excellent, we learned Tai chi and mah jong, and got far more than expected from the dossier. Its fast paced, even by Explore standards, but then in China there's so much to see and do. Overall a fantastic trip, with a great group of people. Best Bits - The Wall, Terracotta Warriors, The villages, The Pandas, the Food (everywhere), Yangshou (Bamboo rafting and cycling). Worst Bits - Long journeys to Sanjiang and Hong Kong, The Tang Dynasty show, Coming Home !!
