How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Sabrina was very knowledgeable and took great care of us all. The nature walk was very enjoyable and informative.

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Our first night in the hide was after a sunny day and it was very very hot in the hide overnight (more like a sauna) but the second night was much cooler so go prepared for both. Also be prepared for lots of mosquitoes!

Do you have anything else to add?

Absolutely fabulous weekend and enjoyed every minute - would love to go back. The only improvement could be to make the tour an additional night so that its not such a rush if you do go back to the hide for a second night.

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Excellent knowledge of the area and knowledge of the bears.

This tour was exactly as I expected.... except that I wasn't aware that the chances of seeing the bears were as high due to the fact the bears are baited, and thus almost 100% chance of seeing the bears. It was fantastic, and due to the numbers in my group I ended up in a "hide" all on my own. This was exceptionally exciting. The tour leader, Sabrina, was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with the Finnish wildlife and environment and she excelled herself in her organisation of this tour. She seemed to prepare all the food, and single-handedly ran the show, so to speak....with a bit of help from one "Chris", a German lad whose knowledge of bears and general wildlife in the area was second to none! It might have been better if there had been a bit more alcohol available at mealtimes. It appeared that this wasn't easily obtainable. I was on holiday, and this would have been a plus......! This weekend fulfilled all my expectations with brown bears and a wolverine visiting us at the hide. The hide was comfortable enough managed 5 hours sleep and awoke to rain. The Aonly disappointment being not seeing one Moose on our evening drive but we did visit the border post with Russia and saw a great sunset. Traditional Finnish sauna and swim in cold lake also made for an invigorating weekend. I did stay overnight near Heathrow so that I could have an easy start to the day before leaving.
