Detailed Trip Notes

Suitability

Suitability

We've given each of our tours a comfort rating and a tour pace, walking or cycling grade to give you a general idea about the level of activity on each tour and the standard of accommodation you will be staying in at the end of your day's adventure.

Often you'll stay in different styles of accommodation during your tour; so we make an average rating across the entire tour.  For more information on where you'll stay each night, please refer to the day by day tour itinerary.

Medical and repatriation insurance cover is not mandatory for UK residents who are travelling within the UK although insurance cover for holiday cancellation, curtailment and personal effects is strongly recommended.
For all non UK nationals travel insurance is necessary and must cover medical and repatriation expenses.

If you have purchased Explore Insurance you should carry the Master Certificate leaflet with you, which outlines the conditions of the policy together with a copy of your Confirmation Invoice, which is your proof of purchase of insurance. Preparing for your tour

Climate

The English name "Snowdon" comes from the Old English snaw dun, meaning "snow hill", as Snowdon often has a covering of snow.  The slopes of Snowdon have one of the wettest climates in Great Britain, receiving an annual average of more than 4,500 millimetres (180 in) of precipitation. Be prepared for wet weather and conditions can be very unpredictable, so be aware that weather can change on an hourly basis. Please note, there may be occasions where it is not possible to reach the summit itself if weather conditions do not allow a completed walk to the top of the mountain.

Seasonal weather patterns can be unpredictable. For up-to-date information on the weather worldwide please visit www.bbc.co.uk/weather.
