Half of people do not want a beach-based honeymoon
Almost half of people planning their honeymoon do not want to spend it on a beach, with one potential alternative being an exhilarating adventure holiday.
A recent poll by travel website Holiday Extras found that around half of people said that their dream honeymoon destination was a beach abroad.
Other options for honeymoon trips are safari adventure holidays or hiking holidays to beautiful destinations, such as Peru's Machu Picchu.
Sean Hagger, the head of the commercial department of Holiday Extras, said that people want to travel to a hot place.
"Your honeymoon should be the happiest, most relaxing holiday of your life, so it's natural that people want to spend it in a … place where they're guaranteed sunshine," he said.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Catherine Middleton, recently chose to sample the beautiful weather of the Seychelles for their honeymoon. It has been widely predicted that this will boost tourism to the island nation.
