Celebrity fitness trainer Steve Halsall claims people can learn new skills and lose weight during an active break
Activity holidays are becoming more popular as travellers look to get more out of their time abroad, it has been claimed.
Steve Halsall, celebrity fitness trainer, expressed his belief that jet-setters are slowly changing their mindset and no longer simply want to enjoy the traditional holiday activities of lying on a beach or sightseeing.
He said: "People can actually come away from holiday having had a great time, probably lost weight and learnt something on the way."
Mr Halsall added that many holidaymakers now have increasingly little time overseas and are keen to live each moment of their break to its maximum.
His comments follows research by Euromonitor International, in co-operation with the World Travel Market, which singled out activity breaks as a key trend in its 2010 Global Trends Report.
