Croatia is an ideal place to take a hiking holiday, according to a travel writer who said that the holiday destination has something "to suit everyone".
Annabelle Thorpe, writing on the travel advice website Trip Ideas, said that there are many diverse areas it is possible to see around the European country, which is one of the things which makes it ideal for trekking holidays.
"Croatia is the perfect place for a hiking holiday: the pace of life is slow and peaceful and there is so much to take in, including abundant wildlife, dramatic coastline and tranquil villages, that the best way to discover it is on foot," she said.
"Tucked away between the major towns [on the coast] lie sleepy hamlets, where an increasing number of holiday villas are being built."
Croatia's fantastic coastline is one of the country's biggest tourist draws, the European city is surrounded by more than one thousand islands.
