Adventure travel magazine editor recommends taking an activity trip
A gap year between school and university is one of the best times to go on an adventure holiday, according to an expert.
Rosie Fuller, the editor of Adventure Travel Magazine, says that she has one piece of advice for people who are planning to take a year out and go on an activity trip: "Go for it".
She says that travelling during this period will lead to "one of the best experiences you will have", as long as the holiday is well-planned before the trip is taken.
"A good idea would be to read blogs of people who have done it once you have worked out where you are going to go," she said.
"When you get there find out the advice of locals and other travellers of the best hostels that are cheap but still liveable."
Ms Fuller also recommends that travellers learn the language of the country to which they are planning to travel before arriving.
