Turismo Chile recommend the Andes and Atacama region
People interested in adventure holidays may wish to visit Chile for "fascinating [and] mysterious" landscapes, according to the tourist board.
According to Alejandra Saenz, the press representative in Europe and North America for Turismo Chile, the South American country's tourism body, says the landscapes of his country are varied and captivating.
The representative was talking about the Atacama region of the country, famous for its desert and about the country's famous mountains.
"Atacama and its surroundings have enormous potential because of its fascinating, mysterious, and immensely awe-inspiring landscapes," Mr Saenz said.
"From the coastal desert to the Altiplano it is a non-stop journey to salt pans, geysers, green oases, extensive beaches, volcanoes, and the striking snow-covered Cordillera de los Andes"
The Altiplano - Spanish for high plain - is the area where the Andes mountains are at their widest. It is one of the world's largest areas of high plateau.
