Sailing trip leads list of top adventure holidays
Sailing a ship through the South Pacific islands is the top activity holiday, according to a list in the Sunday Telegraph.
On the list of top 20 adventure holidays around the world, which was compiled by writers James Bedding and Richard Madden, sailing on the Soren Larsen is an experience that is second to none.
The Soren Larsen is a tallship that was built in Denmark between 1948 and 1949. It now offers people of all ages tutored sailing throughout the South Pacific islands, including Tonga, Vanuatu and Fiji.
In the feature on adventure holidays, the writers state that the ship may be best-known "for its starring role in the TV series The Onedin Line", a series set at the Liverpool docks in the mid 19th-century.
However, travellers need not worry, as "the ship has all mod cons" now, with eight cabins that sleep two people, as well as two four-berth cabins for people on family adventure holidays.
