Families seeking adventure travel holidays could consider Slovakia.
Families who are looking for adventure travel holidays may like to consider Slovakia as the country offers a number of activities.
That is according to travel writer Christopher Middleton, who took his family to Slovakia.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Mr Middleton said that he and his family undertook several different activities during the course of the week.
He wrote: "We went on three mountain walks (lasting from one hour to seven hours), paddled an inflatable boat down the Orava river, and took a chairlift up a 6,000ft mountain.
"We visited a folklore festival in the middle of a forest, a spookily vertiginous castle on top of a cliff and explored the cathedral-like Demanovska Caves."
Mr Middleton added that within the caves a number of formations took shape - including jellyfish tentacles, barley sugar and "candle wax-encrusted organ pipes".
As well as an abundance of activities, he also noted that there were many new restaurants being opened, suggesting that there will be even more for tourists to do in the future.
