Enjoy stunning views of the country during a hike in the country
Travellers planning to embark on hiking holidays in Montenegro will find the experience blissful, according to a travel writer.
Archie Thomas, writing for the Telegraph, expressed his belief that his tour of the country enabled him to see a range of stunning views of the nation's landscape.
He said: "The first few hours of the walk were blissful. Stopping for occasional breathers - to acclimatise and wonder at the spectacular views - we slowly followed the serpentine path up the mountain [Kom Vasojevicki].
"This really was the wildest beauty; not a person in sight and the only sound that of a distant cowbell."
Mr Thomas added that the city of Kotor, which is home to winding streets and beautiful squares, is "well worth a visit".
Culture lovers may enjoy a trip to Cetinje as it features a number of "fascinating museums", according to Mr Thomas.
Montenegro is located in south-eastern Europe and gained independence in 2006.
