See polar bears frolic on the ice with polar cruises through the arctic
Vacationers looking for an unforgettable experience that is a little out of the ordinary may want to consider polar cruises and all of the awe-inspiring sights that such trips entail.
Beyond witnessing first-hand the sheer power of nature as water and ice come together expeditions across the Arctic also allow you to sneak a peak at one of the world's most amazing mammals, the polar bear.
These animals are a joy to watch in their natural habitats, particularly when they interact with their young cubs.
A sight rarely seen by most people first-hand, polar bears have acclimatised to what can often be an arduous life on the ice.
According to Polar Bears International (PBI), tourism to the region is also a great way to highlight the plight of these animals in the face of climate change and hunting.
"Tourism enlightens and inspires visitors to see the necessity of safeguarding the future of polar bears and their arctic wilderness," it states.
And for those eco-conscious travellers who fear the impact their trip may have on the animals, the PBI cites research showing that tourism to areas inhabited by polar bears has no adverse effects on them, so long as simple guidelines are adhered to.
