Solo travellers will discover Goa is a tropical paradise
Travellers planning to book single holidays in Goa will discover it is a tropical paradise, it has been claimed.
Travel writer Helen Nicholson expressed her belief that the south-west Indian state is an ideal place to escape the harsh British winter as it averages temperatures of around 25C during January, potentially hitting 32C on some days.
She wrote on the Daily Mail website: "This former Portuguese colony is a tropical paradise of palm trees and golden sands. If sunbathing isn’t your only interest, Goa is a fascinating region and offers plenty of sightseeing opportunities.
"Plus it's a must for yoga bunnies. People flock here for Ayurvedic treatments alone."
Ms Nicholson added that Goa is an ideal alternative to the Caribbean islands as guests will enjoy similar hot weather but will find their "money goes further" while it is also easier to reach from Britain.
