Thailand is one of the 'world's most popular holiday destinations'
The diversity of landscapes and destinations that Thailand offers the traveller on an adventure holiday means the nation is ideal for people planning to get away, whatever their interests.
That is according to Jane Ormond, writing on the Lonely Planet website, who noted that the vast range of activities and attractions in the Asian country make it a perfect destination for many different types of travellers.
"Thailand is one of the world's most popular holiday destinations, and with good reason – there's so much to do and the landscape is so varied that no matter what your interest, you'll find your little pocket of paradise," she said.
As one of the world's most popular places to visit, Thailand welcomed 15.9 million people from around the globe last year, according to the country's Department of Tourism. This represents a sizeable increase of 12.63 per cent when compared to the statistics for 2009.
