People can explore the wonderful natural world on Darwin's islands
People hoping to visit the Galapagos Islands on an adventure holiday will find that there are "so many highlights" to the destination, according to the Galapagos Conservation Trust.
Toni Darton, the chief executive officer at the trust, said that visiting the archipelago - located off the coast of Ecuador - is great for natural explorers on adventure holiday.
"There are so many highlights [such as] standing next to courting Blue-footed Boobies performing a touching mating dance to snorkelling with turtles and even penguins on the equator," she said.
"Every day brings something special. Perhaps the greatest thing is that everyone can feel like Sir David Attenborough and come back with photographs to rival the professionals."
Readers of adventure travel magazine Wanderlust have recently named the Galapagos Islands as one of the top 100 "greatest travel experiences" in the world.
They placed the Ecuadorian islands at the number one spot on the list, ahead of attractions such as Machu Picchu in Peru and Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.
