Guatemala City is home to a range of cultural attractions
People planning to take an adventure holiday might want to consider taking a trip to Guatemala, which has a great mix of different attractions, drawing many different types of travellers in.
That is according to Visit Guatemala, the official tourism board for the Central American state, which noted that the capital - Guatemala City - is a particularly cultural place to visit.
"This metropolis, of about three million people, presents a contrast[ing] panorama between the colonial architecture [and] modern buildings," the organisation said on its website.
The tourism board added that the city's "important museums and historical monuments" offer a "unique experience" to people exploring this underrated country on an adventure holiday tour.
People taking in Guatemala on an adventure holiday could extend their holiday by visiting the ancient Mayan sites of nearby Mexico and Honduras, making a great trip for those with an interest in this period of history.
