Travel expert recommends Uluru and Great Barrier Reef for adventure holidays
People planning an adventure holiday in Australia should ensure they visit two classic areas of natural beauty, according to travel guide firm BootsnAll travel network.
Brooke Schoenman, who is a prominent travel writer for the company's WhyGo Australia division, noted that among the hundreds of fantastic sites there are two in particular that stand out.
"The Aboriginal sacred site of Uluru is set in the outback of the Northern Territory and provides a destination with a spiritual vibe," she said.
"Then, of course, there's the Great Barrier Reef, a very large living structure that can be seen from space, which is great for snorkelling or diving."
However, the travel expert noted that as well as these fantastic natural sights, Australia also offers a great metropolitan experience in its cities such as Melbourne and Sydney.
The former of these two cities offers a great "cafe culture" which can rival that of many continental European capitals, according to Ms Schoenman.
