The galleries and the architecture make the city one of the best for culture vultures
Forget Paris and forget Rome, those looking to take in huge swathes of culture on their solo holiday should visit the Czech capital of Prague.
That is because the city is not only home to many theatres, galleries and museums, but also the architecture of the buildings around the destination is art in itself.
The city's cultural attractions range from the old - the 600-year-old astronomical clock or the Old Town Square, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site - to the new: the zoo was named one of the best in the world by Forbes magazine in 2008.
Travellers could also see some of the modern art-form of popular music in one of the cities many venues or jazz bars.
Prague's architecture is well-known and widely-lauded, with the spires of the aforementioned Old Town Square appearing to stretch out of the city.
The tourism board recently launched the 'summer of theatre', which it hopes will get people coming to the country to watch plays.
