Barca-based travel writer suggests range of activities
Barcelona is a great destination for people taking adventure holidays, as there are many different outdoor activities for travellers to take part in.
That is according to Sally Davies, a travel writer based in the Catalonian city, who outlined some of the best things in the open in Barcelona for the Guardian newspaper.
The writer revealed that some of the best outdoor activities in Barcelona include climbing and going on an 'urban safari' to experience the decent range of flora and fauna around the city itself.
But Ms Davies reserved particular praise for the Parc de la Ciutadella, located in the north-east of the old town, where people can go rowing.
The green space, which also contains the city's zoo, is "a gem of a park", according to the writer, "with shaded walkways, ornamental gardens, playgrounds, fountains, a grandiose waterfall … and some splendid buildings."
People could visit Barcelona while on a larger adventure holiday, taking in the nearby city of Girona and the Pyrenees mountain range.
