Scandinavian natural formations made writer's 'heart drop through her stomach'
People planning adventure holidays in Europe should visit Norway, as the country's famous fjords are some of the most stunning natural formations in the world.
That is according to travel expert Tam Leach, who visited the Scandinavian country and wrote about the experience for The Independent newspaper, saying the fjords made her "heart drop … through [her] stomach".
On visiting one of the water-filled glacial inlets, Ms Leach opined that "up close, the ... fjord was almost too much to take in".
"We floated slowly through their midst, through an ocean so thick with birds that it resembled one of those rubber-duck filled ponds at a fairground. I almost expected each puffin to have a hook on its back and a winning number beneath," she added.
Ms Leach is an adventure holiday expert and writer, having penned a Rough Guide travel book entitled Skiing and Snowboarding in North America.
