It is often the warmth and friendliness of the local people that make me fall in love with a place. The smiles and kindness of the people of Laos, Mongolia, Chile and Japan will always particularly stand out in my memory – they are amazing countries with amazing people.
Where’s next for me? I have really got the bug for South America after a recent trip to Chile and am keen to explore the continent further. My plans will be on hold for a few years yet though, with the arrival of our first child in January!
If I had to give some advice, I’d really recommend keeping a travel journal. Even though it can often seem like a bit of a drag at the end of a long day exploring, just a few lines each day will help you to relive the memories from a trip for years to come.
