The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, to give them their proper name, are a natural phenomena that can occur on cold, dark and clear nights in the skies in countries close to, or inside, the Arctic Circle. There’s never any guarantee of sightings of this most spectacular of nature’s light shows, however the best chances are between October and March when the nights are long and the temperatures drop.
